Contact Microphone Test on Acoustic Guitar

By Bogdan Varlamov on March 6, 2012 Comments

A few weeks ago we were visited by the band CMKT4 who taught a workshop about how to build contact microphones using Creme DeMentia EconoMIC kits.

I wanted to take advantage of the opportunity and put together two microphones (both of which worked!). My friend let me use an amp to test with, and I brought in my guitar to see if the mic would work as an acoustic guitar pick-up and turn my cheapo acoustic guitar into an acoustic-electric guitar.

It did!

I recorded one of the visitors at the hackerspace strumming away at the guitar through my phone (that's why the quality isn't very good). But, hopefully, you get the idea : )
